The guitar in question is a Gibson Les Paul Standard from 1959. According to Mick Taylor, the guitar belongs to him and is said to have been stolen as early as 1971 during the recording of the album "Exile on Main St.".

But according to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the guitar belongs to them, as it was part of a collection that was donated to the museum earlier this year.

The museum claims that there is no evidence that the guitar was stolen from the former Stones member and that it has a "well-documented ownership history".

Now Mick Taylor is urging the museum to make the guitar "available for inspection".

The guitar has the nickname "Keithburst" and has also been played by Keith Richards, Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page.
