In the death certificate, both cardiac arrest and coronary artery disease are listed as causes of death. It also appears that Osbourne had been suffering from Parkinson's disease for some time, which was publicly known previously.
On July 22, the same day Osbourne died, an ambulance helicopter was called to his residence in Buckinghamshire in England. He was then taken to a hospital in Uxbridge outside London, but his life could not be saved, the newspaper writes.
It was no secret that Osbourne had various health problems earlier and in February this year, he said in a radio program that he could no longer walk, writes New York Times.
Just around two weeks before his passing, the heavy metal star was reunited with his band Black Sabbath for a final concert together, 20 years after the group's last performance.
Osbourne then sat on a throne on the stage in his former hometown Birmingham and turned to the fans:
"You have no idea how I feel – thank you from the bottom of my heart."
Osbourne was a pioneer in heavy metal with the group Black Sabbath before he later had great success as a solo artist. A large part of his life and career has been marked by alcohol and drug abuse, and the anecdotes about the hard rock star are many.
