Rick Astley made a breakthrough in 1987 with the hit song "Never gonna give you up" and the Stock Aitken Waterman-produced album "Whenever you need somebody". It was sold in 15 million copies worldwide.
During the 2000s, the internet phenomenon "rickrolling" emerged, where "fake" links led those who clicked on them further to "Never gonna give you up". At the time of writing, the video for the song has 1.7 billion views on Youtube.
"I am incredibly happy to be back in Sweden and perform at Allsång på Skansen. The program has a legendary history of bringing people together through music and I look forward to being a part of that magic", says Rick Astley in a press release.
During the evening, he will be joined by artists such as Ola Salo and Peter Jöback, Thomas Stenström, Titiyo and EMD who will make their first performance after the reunion.
