The Social Democrats are demanding more money to stop the wave of violence

Sweden is in a national crisis according to the Social Democrats, who are demanding an extra amending budget to stop the wave of violence. In this situation, money should not stand in the way of the measures that are required, says S leader Magdalena Andersson.

The opposition leader points out that Sweden is currently in an "extremely serious situation".

Crisis situations place high demands on leadership, not least from the top leadership, says Magdalena Andersson at a press conference.

The party is now demanding that the government immediately calls for negotiations on an additional supplementary budget.

Action is now required, says Andersson.

It is precisely for this type of situation that we have saved in reserve, she adds.

The party wants to see the government mobilize resources and personnel to the affected authorities to both put a stop to new atrocities and to protect people who are at risk of being affected.

When we are in an acute crisis, money must not be an obstacle to acute interventions, says Mikael Damberg, financial policy spokesperson for the party.
