The Swedish and Ukrainian governments have taken a step closer to jointly starting the production of defense equipment for Ukraine in Sweden.
Minister of Defense Pål Jonson (The Moderate Party) and his Ukrainian counterpart Denys Sjmyhal signed a statement of intent regarding the matter in Kyiv on Saturday, according to a press release from the government.
"By combining a Swedish industrial base, Ukrainian innovation and Ukrainian experiences from the battlefield, we can build a stronger joint defense industry", says Jonson.
Several countries – including Romania, Poland and Denmark – are already working in a similar way with Ukrainian defense equipment companies.
