The accident occurred just before 4 pm north of the airfield outside Skånes Fagerhult. Rescue services, ambulance and Maritime and flight rescue center were alerted to the scene. According to the Swedish Maritime Administration's press spokesperson Jonas Franzén, the plane had not reached any great heights.

It is a small private plane with two people who were supposed to take off but did not succeed with it, instead hitting the treetops next to the airport and thereby going down and landing in the trees, he said and added that the plane is stuck at a height of seven meters.

A woman in her 65s was taken to hospital by ambulance for a check-up. The pilot, a man in his 75s, was successfully brought down to the ground by the rescue services at 6 pm, according to the police on their website.

The man is unharmed.

One of the affected persons called the emergency center themselves.

The police are assisting the Swedish Accident Investigation Authority in documenting the accident site and are interviewing those affected and witnesses.

The police do not suspect any crime.
