The competitions in Falun would have been Johaug's first competition since the Norwegian championships in mid-January, but she will never make it to the start.

"Plans are meant to be changed along the way. The starting point before Christmas was that I wouldn't do the Tour de Ski, but I chose to prioritize the tour anyway. Now I'm making a new change and choose to skip Falun to prepare myself in the best possible way for the World Championship", she says in a press release from the Norwegian Ski Association.

The World Cup weekend in Falun is the last one before the Ski World Championship in Trondheim, which takes place from 26 February to 9 March.
