Floris has reached Norway during the night and is now approaching the Swedish west coast where the winds are noticeable at sea, outside Nordkoster and Orust.

23 meters per second have been measured at Måseskär. So there are very strong gusts of wind there, says meteorologist Fredrik Cronvall.

In Sweden, SMHI has issued yellow warnings for Södra Värmlands county, western and northern Västra Götalands county, the northernmost part of Hallands county and the westernmost part of Örebro county.

And as stated in the warnings, we expect gusts of wind at 18 to 23 meters per second, possibly up to 25 along the Bohus coast and near Vänern, i.e. a storm, says Cronvall.

Floris' winds are expected to sweep gradually northeast during the morning.

It's a movement so that at 8 o'clock we start getting it over land in Bohuslän. Then maybe at 10 over Dalsland and from 12 in Värmland.

"Used to winds"

In Uddevalla municipality, which is located in central Bohuslän, the warning is taken with calmness.

We are used to winds on the west coast and as it looks now, it will not be of the extreme kind, says the municipality's business and communications manager Mats Eliasson.

The municipality has had discussions about the approaching storm but has not taken any further measures.

No, we do not think that such winds will occur that it will be a problem.

In the afternoon, Floris reaches its peak and in the evening, the forecast is that the bad weather will slowly subside.

Households without power

Trafikverket urges road users to be cautious in areas where the storm is moving.

"On the northern Bohus coast and parts of Vänern's coastal landscape, gusts of over 25 m/s will probably occur", writes SMHI in its warning, which applies until 8 pm on Tuesday evening.

On Tuesday morning, nearly 4,000 households in Västra Götaland are reported to be without power.

Several ferries have also been cancelled between Norway and Denmark and Norway and Sweden, including between Sandefjord and Strömstad in northern Bohuslän.

During the night against Tuesday, the bad weather reached Norway where it caused traffic accidents and closed roads after about twenty trees were blown down, reports Norwegian media.

On Monday, the bad weather also ravaged, among other places, Scotland, where it led to disruptions in train traffic. Flights and ferries were cancelled and people were urged to avoid traveling.
