The warning comes from the National Board of Trade in a new analysis.
The automotive industry is particularly vulnerable. It accounts for nearly a third of Swedish exports to the USA, writes the Swedish trade authority in a press release. But pharmaceutical exports are also expected to take a severe hit.
The calculation has been made in a simulation using a model tool called Metro.
China's exports to the USA are expected to decrease by 66 percent, according to the National Board of Trade.
"The country that would be hardest hit is the USA itself, where imports and exports are expected to decrease by 10 and 14 percent, respectively," adds the authority.
The National Board of Trade's analysis also shows that the tariffs Trump wants to introduce would drive up costs for both companies and consumers and create global inflation. They also risk affecting global trade flows and hindering climate transition.
