Johan Kristoffersson has been a constant in the outermost elite of rallycross for a longer period of time. Now he has also taken home his seventh World Championship gold.

The Swede finished ahead of rival Kevin Hansen in one of the initial heats during the World Championship competition in Istanbul, and had thereby gained an advantage that was impossible to lose. He could thus title himself seven-time world champion in rallycross.

It takes a while before it sinks in, but it's clear, to be able to win a seventh World Championship title, it just feels totally fantastic, he says to SVT.

The Swede took home his first World Championship title in 2017, and has now won seven of the last eight championships. The last time he didn't win was in 2019, when Timmy Hansen won the total.
