A 50-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman died after a violent incident in Sollentuna on Tuesday. The prosecutor's theory is that the man shot the woman to death and then turned the weapon on himself, reports TV4 News.

It's murder in one case. One suspects that it's first a murder and that the perpetrator then took their own life. The man is suspected, says prosecutor Madelene Ekestolpe to the channel.

It was at 11:30 on Tuesday that the police were alerted about a "serious situation" at an address in Sollentuna north of Stockholm.

Later, it was announced that two people, a man and a woman who had a relationship, were dead, one of whom was initially taken seriously injured by helicopter to the hospital.

The incident is being investigated as murder and aggravated weapons offense.
