The team consisted of Anna Magnusson, Elvira Öberg, Jesper Nelin, and Martin Ponsiluoma.
Anna Magnusson started strongly. At the handover to Elvira Öberg, Sweden was in third place, a position that Öberg quickly improved to second.
It feels good ahead of the relay tomorrow when we'll do the same thing again, says Öberg about her performance to SVT.
When it was Jesper Nelin's turn, Elvira Öberg had climbed to a lead with a few seconds' margin down to Norwegian Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold.
Nelin was able to maintain the lead thanks to stable shooting when Martin Ponsiluoma set off. But in a fierce duel with Norwegian Vebjørn Sørum and Frenchman Emilien Jacquelin, Ponsiluoma was unable to keep up in the cross-country skiing.
I got devilishly nervous when I stood at the start, I must say. It felt like it was the first real test. I felt incredibly tense and stiff in my body, says Ponsiluoma.
The whole thing ended with a third-place finish for the Swedish team.
The day began with a Swedish victory in the single mixed event in the premiere. Ella Halvarsson and Sebastian Samuelsson were behind the morning's top spot.
We had a good position, but it's tough, it gets heavy in the track. But we've done well, a podium spot, both now and previously, so a good day for Sweden, says Jesper Nelin.
New relays await for the men and women tomorrow.
