The players got a day off – "Many are worn out at this time of year"

The national team went to Marbella – only to skip training when the rain finally cleared up. Instead, they awaited free activities. There are many who are worn out at this time of year. The load is important to consider, says assistant coach Sebastian Larsson.

Golf, a walk, a lunch in town – the alternatives chosen instead of grinding tactical details on the football pitch were many.

I remember myself that when you got a day like this, I thought it was fun to be able to do something with the guys. Relax, put football aside for a few hours and devote yourself to something else.

It was positive and builds something in the group, says Larsson, who had 133 international matches.

At Monday's training in heavy rain, about ten players participated. Those who had played club matches on Sunday devoted themselves to rehabilitation training or did a pass in the gym. Ahead, preparations will be stepped up for Saturday's international match against Luxembourg.

Twisted ankle

Small and nice from the camp in Marbella:

+ Hugo Bolin is struggling with a twisted ankle.

The physiotherapists will take a look at him. Always with an injury, they check it up and do a medical examination from day to day, says press chief Petra Thorén.

+ Sebastian Nanasi skipped the opportunity to play golf.

I'm not a giant talent on golf. I've tried, but I'm not good. I'll try to learn later, with emphasis on later.

The midfielder can look back on a strong season in Strasbourg.

They always say that the French league is physical and it is. Very intense. You run a lot and it's tough. You need to be ready. I'm a player who doesn't go into all duels. I try to be smart and play around duels. I'm not the one who goes in and "bashes".

Sema gets emotional

+ "King Ken" Sema thrives in Cyprus' sun after the transfer from the less weather-friendly Watford, which he left for Pafos. But he gets emotional when he looks back on the farewell party of his former teammates.

I got a farewell that I appreciated very much. Bigger players than I have left the club, but not at all got the same as I got. It means that you've done something big.

Centre-back Gustaf Lagerbielke has got a boost from the loan from Celtic to Twente. Those who doubted can look up pictures from the powerful header against Malmö FF in the European Championship.

He doesn't know what the future looks like.

If there's something you've learned abroad, it's that you often don't have much to say about it, but I can absolutely imagine a future in Twente.
