Now, the last votes in the EU election have been counted, announces the Election Authority.
The changes were small compared to the figures on election night, despite over 200,000 votes being added from, among other things, abroad.
After the election night count, 314 so-called collection districts remained for those who voted from abroad or advance voted on election day. These are the ones that have been added.
Earlier in the week, a voter turnout of 50.7 per cent was reported, but the new figure stands at 53.4. The increase was expected since so many votes, 211,210, remained. It is still a decrease compared to the EU election in 2019, when the voter turnout was 55.3 per cent.
With all votes counted, some parties have gained an increased share of the votes, but it is a very marginal difference compared to the figures presented on election night. The Social Democrats and the Moderates decrease by 0.1 percentage points, while the Green Party and the Left Party increase by the same amount.
It is not yet final. Now, the result will be handed over to the county administrative boards for a final count.
It is only after counting all votes that the Election Authority makes formal decisions on how the mandates will be distributed, appoints members and substitutes to the EU. Provisionally, it is expected to be clear on Friday.
