Ismail Abdo was arrested in Turkey last summer, suspected of several serious crimes. He is also a crime suspect in Sweden, which he left several years ago.

Swedish police are investigating companies linked to Abdo's network and according to Kalla Fakta's investigation, a pharmacy in Uppsala is run by people with ties to the gang leader. One of them has been convicted of, among other things, violent crimes.

The Medical Products Agency's Annika Babra says that a person who is in the register of criminal convictions should not be able to obtain a permit to run a pharmacy.

We have had too sparse control, but we have become aware of this in recent years, which has made us tighten control.

The persons running the pharmacy in Uppsala deny that they would have connections to criminals or criminal activities.
