Hunter Attacked by Wounded Bear in Vännäs During Hunt

A man in his 40s is being treated in hospital after being attacked by a wounded bear in Vännäs municipality on Friday, local media reports.

The attack occurred during the second day of bear hunting in the county.

According to information to SVT Västerbotten the bear disappeared after being injured by shots. After a few hours, it appeared again and was injured by further shots, whereupon the hunter got the animal over him.

According to Region Västerbotten, the man, who was taken to hospital by ambulance, is being treated for moderate injuries, writes Västerbottens-Kuriren.
