Before the detention hearing on Thursday, the prosecutor requested that the man's name be kept secret.

Without going into details on why, it was based on the threat scenario that could arise against his family if the name is revealed, she says.

More involved

Lisa Åberg assumes that more people were involved in the murder.

In this type of crime, it is often several people involved. I assume that there are more than the suspect who have been involved in the planning and execution of this.

It was shortly after 1 pm on Monday when the police received an alarm about loud bangs in the Rosengård district. When the police arrived, a 25-year-old man was found on the ground with suspected gunshot wounds. He died on the spot.

What I can say about him is that he was part of a criminal environment and that he has been suspected of serious crime. Whether this crime is part of a conflict is something we will investigate further.

Denies crime

Shortly afterwards, the 18-year-old was arrested near the crime scene. According to Åberg, he had absconded from a placement at a youth care home.

He denies all crimes, she says.

The shooting took place in a densely populated area in the middle of the day with an automatic weapon. According to Åberg, there was a high risk of more people being hit by shots. A window of an apartment was hit by a shot, and a preschool is located just nearby.

The residents of the apartment were at home but were not injured. It is in this part that the teenager is suspected of attempted murder.
