World number two David Åhman and Jonatan Hellvig, who haven't played since the OS final in Paris in August, also won the second match in João Pessoa. It ended 2–0 in sets (21–12, 21–17) against the Czechs Jakub Sepka and Jiri Sedlak, ranked 41st in the world.
In the first set, the Swedes took control fairly quickly. In the second, the Czechs caught up to 12–13, but the Swedes could still take the set – and the match. Åhman and Hellvig's main scoring weapon is their attacks (21 points), but they also took 17 points on their opponents' mistakes.
The winning streak continued later on Friday evening, Brazilian time, when the Swedes met the home team Arthur Mariano and Adrielson Silva.
Åhman and Hellvig won with 2–0 in sets (21–18, 21–17) against the Brazilians, ranked 28th in the world.
The Swedes thrive in João Pessoa, where they won the World Championship tournament last year.
