Sweden surprised and impressed in the semi-final of the speedway team World Championship on Tuesday, but ahead of Saturday's final, the chances of a top placement seemed small.
Then Fredrik Lindgren and Jacob Thorssell pulled off a real upset when they secured a Swedish World Championship bronze in Manchester, England.
The favourite going into the final was the home nation Great Britain, with Australia and Poland as the closest challengers.
It was also Great Britain and Australia that battled it out for the World Championship gold – and in the final heat, the home nation was strongest and could secure the victory.
