al-Obeid, also known as ”Palestine's Pelé”, was killed on August 6 in an Israeli air strike against civilians in southern Gaza Strip who had gathered to try to get hold of emergency aid, the Palestinian Football Association announced earlier in the week.

In the post from Uefa, they briefly described the former national team player as ”a talent who gave hope to countless children, even in the darkest moments”.

”Tell us how he died, where it happened and why?”, Salah writes on X late on Saturday evening.

Since the heavily criticized Israeli-American organization Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) took over the distribution of emergency aid in Gaza at the end of May, over 1,300 people have been killed in connection with the distribution sites, according to figures from the UN.
