After a somewhat cooler period, those who live in southern Sweden can look forward to high summer weather again. It is mainly on Wednesday and Thursday that higher temperatures are expected, says Torbjörn Simann, meteorologist at SMHI.

After a period with somewhat unstable weather, the mid-summer heat returns to parts of the country. From the middle of next week, Götaland and southern Svealand can get up to 25 degrees warm.

The forecast indicates that the northwestern parts of Götaland – Västergötland, Halland, and Dalsland – and the western parts of Småland will get the highest temperatures.

What happens is that a high pressure and warm weather make their way up over southern and central Sweden. Then we're talking generally from 20 degrees and it can certainly be some days with 27-28 degrees.

As it looks, the forecast with warm weather will hold during the work week. But the high pressure is not stable.

At the same time, we have some areas with rain showers that can pass, says Simann.

The risk of forest fires remains in Blekinge county and parts of the counties Kalmar, Skåne, Kronoberg, Jönköping, Östergötland, and Västra Götaland.

Yes, right now there is a risk of forest fires there. I do not see that there would be any change in the situation since no major precipitation amounts are expected, says Torbjörn Simann.
