Since 2022, the Russian football association has received almost 140 million Swedish kronor from Uefa, writes the British The Guardian.
The money is earmarked and must be passed on by the association to the club teams.
At the same time, five Ukrainian clubs have been denied equivalent support because they are located in a "zone with military interventions".
Uefa's solidarity payments are intended to level the economic playing field and go to clubs that do not reach European games. This is so that teams that qualify for games in, for example, the Champions League and European League do not pull away too much from an economic perspective.
