SVT unpublishes interview with Duplantis

SVT has withdrawn the notorious broadcast where Olle Palmlöf, among other things, interviews Armand Duplantis. "Viewers must be able to expect more from a production on SVT", writes programme manager Christina Hill to Göteborgs-Posten.

Already earlier on Tuesday, SVT apologized as many reacted strongly to the program "Eftersnack" which was broadcast after the Sports Gala.

The program was led by Olle Palmlöf and Maria Wallberg, and Palmlöf seemed affected when he interviewed, among others, Armand Duplantis.

According to Expressen, Palmlöf is said to have said directly after the broadcast that he "had been drinking spirits".

To GP, Hill writes that the production did not live up to SVT's quality requirements "and for that reason, as well as with regard to all those involved, we have chosen to unpublish the Eftersnack from SVT Play."

The Sports Gala remains available to watch in its entirety.

In a comment, SVT wrote earlier on Tuesday that they have "zero tolerance for alcohol in service" and "take the incident seriously". Furthermore, SVT wrote:

"We also want to extend a special apology to the people who were interviewed on the occasion."

In a short interview with Aftonbladet, Olle Palmlöf denies being intoxicated.

It wasn't me, he says to the newspaper.

On the follow-up question about whether he has any explanation for why it was perceived that way, he responds:

No.

Stephan Rimér, CEO of the production company responsible for the broadcast, regrets the incident and says that they are evaluating whether they could have done something differently.

Exactly what we should have done and not done, I can't quite answer, I can only conclude that the end result is not good. It becomes unsuitable in several ways, he says to Vecko-Revyn.
