A suspected dangerous object has been found in an apartment building in Roslags Näsby, outside Stockholm. The object has been disarmed by the police.
The alarm came to the police at 05:30 on Saturday morning. Public transportation with Roslagsbanan was stopped in the area during the morning.
It's about a suspected object that was found in a commercial premises on the ground floor of the house, says police spokesperson Helena Boström Thomas to TT.
The national bomb squad was called to the scene and the object was disarmed at around 09:30.
According to Aftonbladet, it was a hand grenade, something the police cannot confirm.
The residents of the apartment building did not need to be evacuated.
But it may be that some of them had to stay indoors, said Boström Thomas to TT.
The cordon was lifted at around 10 am, when traffic on Roslagsbanan also resumed. An investigation has been initiated for suspected attempted public destruction.
A similar incident occurred a few stations away, in Hägernäs, last week. A hand grenade was then found on the spot, writes SVT Stockholm.
It's too early to say anything about a connection. First, we need to determine what this object is, says Boström Thomas to SVT.
