Andreas "Stycket" Nilsson became the match winner in his comeback in the handball league.
The 34-year-old national team profile scored nine goals when his Önnered defeated Malmö in the premiere with 30–27.
Nilsson was selected for the Olympic Games in Paris this summer, but declined as he and his family had their hands full with the move back home from Hungarian Veszprém, which he represented for ten years.
"Stycket" was born in Trelleborg and had his own cheering section with family and friends among the 936 spectators in Malmö.
Yes, it was nice. They live just two miles from here, so it's fun that they can come. It's been a long time since so many could watch a league match, says Nilsson to SVT.
Önnered took an early five-goal lead in the premiere, which was also the margin at halftime.
In the middle of the second half, Malmö made contact, with a two-goal deficit of 22–24, but three straight goals made Önnered pull away again.
