Sting takes the words out of his mouth and reveals what he really thinks about Sean "Diddy" Combs' sampling of one of his hits, now that the hip-hop star is accused of a range of crimes.
Diddy sampled The Police hit "Every breath you take", released in 1983, on his song "I'll be missing you" in 1997. In an interview with LA Times, Sting is asked if he thinks The Police song has been tarnished by the allegations against Diddy.
No. I don't know what Diddy has been up to, but it doesn't tarnish my song at all. It's still mine, he says.
Diddy has been sued by over 120 people for, among other things, rape, trafficking, sexual abuse, and sexual exploitation. The lawsuits are part of several legal actions against Diddy, who is already facing charges of sexual assault, assault, and extortion.
