Cain has previously expressed anger towards the new "Superman" movie and called it "woke". This after the director James Gunn pointed out that Superman is an immigrant from another planet.
Now Cain wants to continue supporting President Donald Trump's policy on immigration. He is to be sworn in as an agent for the migration agency ICE, which has greatly intensified its raids since Trump returned to the White House. The agency was recently granted 810 billion kronor in extra allocations as part of the president's large budget package.
In an interview with Fox News, Cain said, among other things, that the US has "a broken immigration system" and that Donald Trump delivers "what the people voted for".
This country is built on patriots who stand up, whether it's popular or not, and do the right thing. I really believe this is the right thing to do, said Cain.
ICE aims to make at least 3,000 arrests per day. Unauthorized immigrants, people with protected status, and even American citizens have been lifted from the streets into the deportation system, where the rule of law is often disregarded, according to critics.
The raids have led to protests across the US, and the Trump administration has responded by imprisoning demonstrators and civilians who have filmed arrests.
