Train traffic has not yet been affected by Denmark's decision to tighten border controls against Sweden.
The controls were introduced according to Denmark's Minister of Justice Peter Hummelgaard (S) already on Friday. The reason is the recent wave of violence where five Swedes are suspected of involvement in attempted murder and an explosion. According to Hummelgaard, criminals in Denmark have hired Swedes on 25 occasions since April this year to commit crimes in the neighboring country.
The stricter control at the border against Sweden means extended physical checks at the Öresund trains. But exactly what it entails is still unclear.
We do not know how the Danish police's setup is. The trains are running as usual without major delays, says Karl Buhre, operational manager at Skånetrafiken.
Skånetrafiken also has no information on how the extended controls will be carried out.
Not even SJ's trains that go through Denmark to Berlin have been affected so far.
