Two weeks after the highly acclaimed premiere in Cannes, the Swedish-Iranian director Ali Abbasi's film about Donald Trump, "The Apprentice", has still not received distribution in the US, writes Variety.
According to the newspaper's own sources, there are indeed interested buyers, but it appears not to be among the major distributors. In connection with the premiere in Cannes, Trump's colleagues stated that the former president threatened to sue Abbasi, and according to Variety, there is a fear that the major distributors are afraid to get on the wrong side of Donald Trump.
Film i Väst is a co-producer of "The Apprentice", but is not the main financier.
