Kate, the Princess of Wales, says her cancer treatment is progressing and that she will participate in Saturday's royal Trooping the Colour ceremony in London.

"I'm making good progress, but as anyone who has gone through chemotherapy knows, there are good days and bad days", says Kate in a statement on

and adds that several months of treatment remain.

The King Charles III's official birthday celebration will be 42-year-old Kate's first public appearance this year.

In January, the British royal court announced that the Princess would undergo abdominal surgery and be on sick leave for two months. In March, the Princess herself revealed in a video recording that she had been diagnosed with cancer and would undergo chemotherapy.

"I'm looking forward to participating in the King's birthday parade at the weekend with my family and hope to be able to attend some public engagements during the summer. At the same time, I know I'm not 'out of the woods' yet", writes the Princess and takes the opportunity to thank everyone for the well wishes she and Prince William have received.
