Kate, the Princess of Wales, has made her first public appearance this year. The Princess arrived on Saturday morning by car at Buckingham Palace with her husband and children ahead of the annual Trooping the Colour ceremony.
During the ceremony itself, she rode in a horse-drawn carriage with her children, while her husband, Prince William, took part on horseback. Afterwards, she appeared with the rest of the royal family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
In March, the Princess announced that she had been diagnosed with cancer and would undergo chemotherapy. Ahead of Saturday's ceremony, she wrote in a statement on Instagram that she was making good progress, a piece of news that delighted many.
She's our future queen. She's so important, says teacher Angela Perry, one of the onlookers who gathered to watch the parade.
