The former Arsenal and Chelsea player Cesc Fàbregas becomes the new head coach of Italian Como, the club confirms.
The contract is written for four years.
"It's an honor to officially appoint Cesc as head coach. We believe that this is just the beginning and look forward to working with Cesc this season and many years ahead", says the owner group's spokesperson Mirwan Suwarso in a statement.
Fàbregas played for Como until last season, when he switched to the coaching bench and became assistant coach to Osian Roberts. The Spaniard also had a stint as interim coach.
"I'm so glad to start this season as head coach and I thank the owner group for their trust. I share the group's ambitions and believe that this is just the beginning of where this club can go", says Fàbregas.
The 37-year-old is, together with former teammate Thierry Henry, a co-owner of the club.
Como went back up to Serie A last season after 21 years of absence from the top league in Italy.
