It was in the fourth inning of Friday's meeting between New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox in the American baseball league (MLB) that a squirrel ended up in the spotlight.

The squirrel made a visit to the home player Max Fried on the pitcher's mound.

My first reaction was: "Do not do anything that makes you ashamed". I thought it would just run around, but it came up to me and to the little hole I made on the mound, says Max Fried to the league's website.

The squirrel tried to get away from the field for several minutes, but it took a while before it found its way out via a scoreboard.

Already on Saturday, a company that manufactures baseball cards announced that the squirrel will get its own collector's card.
