In the beginning of November last year, an explosion occurred in a machine at the battery factory in Skellefteå. A 25-year-old man was severely injured. He was taken to the Academic Hospital in Uppsala, where he later died from his injuries.

After the accident, the police initiated a preliminary investigation. An interrogation with Northvolt is planned to be held within the coming weeks.

We will hear the company and hear their stance, whether they consider themselves responsible or not, says prosecutor Christer B Jarlås, who is leading the investigation, to Norran.

The newspaper has contacted Northvolt.

"We are in contact with the prosecutor and the police, and refrain from commenting on the ongoing investigation", writes the company's communications manager Matti Kataja in a comment.
