As a spoken word poet, Agnes Török has toured the country for the past 13 years, but which places will get the new reading councils, hen cannot yet say. However, reading councils are the right way to promote reading.

Much of it is about building frameworks. My predecessor has done a fantastic job with a reading council with young people from Stockholm and Södertälje. It's the young people who know best! says Agnes Török, who plans to start several councils – but not in the big cities.

The task is to promote reading among children and young people. As a spoken word poet, Agnes Török also wants to work with "live literature" – stage performances and role-playing.

We want to build long-term local networks that hopefully will remain long after my two years. We must collaborate with structures that already exist. I'm not interested in just coming for a visit and "holding a fun hour".
