The nightclub was founded in 2003 but now risks losing its building permit after two neighbors complained that the music played there is too loud.
On its website, Trädgården has a petition to preserve the nightclub and culture's place in the capital, where Alexander Skarsgård is one of those taking a stand, and holds up a t-shirt with the text "Bevara trädgården".
Director Tuva Novotny, artists Daniela Rathana and Veronica Maggio, Viagra Boys' singer Sebastian Murphy and The Left Party's party leader Nooshi Dadgostar are others who have protested against the closure.
