Safety at the border with Lebanon will be restored "in one way or another". Israel is ready for "intensive combat operations", says Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after rumors of a planned large-scale offensive.
"We are ready for very intense combat operations in the north," says Netanyahu during a visit to Kiryat Shmona, just a few kilometers from the border with Lebanon, according to a press release.
Since the Gaza War began, Israeli soldiers and Lebanese Hezbollah, allied with Hamas, have almost daily exchanged fire in the border area.
Rumors have been circulating in recent days that Israel plans a larger military operation against Hezbollah.
"Whoever hurts us and thinks we will respond by sitting on our hands is making a big mistake," says Netanyahu.
