Several people from the same riding club reported a national team rider for violence against horses last week. Now, the equestrian federation's disciplinary committee has decided that the rider is not allowed to participate in national team-related activities for the time being.

"Conversations have been held with the rider in question," says the association's general secretary Johan Fyrberg in an email response to Tidningenridsport.se.

The rider in question has championship experience and is part of one of the many national teams in equestrian sports. According to the report, the rider has been violent towards horses on several occasions.

The rider denies the allegations and welcomes an investigation.

Johan Fyrberg emphasizes the importance of investigating the allegations against the national team rider.

"All equestrian sports should always be based on the horse's conditions and horse welfare is at the top of the association's agenda. Each case is assessed and handled on a case-by-case basis."

During the disciplinary committee's investigation, the rider is not allowed to participate in national team-related gatherings and activities.

The rider can, however, continue to compete since a withdrawn license is a disciplinary measure and something that the disciplinary committee decides on.
