"Who has lost a snake?" asks Nykvarn Municipality in a wanted ad on Facebook.

The snake, which is black with a green pattern, is said to be three meters long and as thick as an arm. It was reportedly seen both at Folkets Park and on Orrspelsvägen in Nykvarn on Friday, the municipality writes on its Facebook page.

We have received information from the municipality that it was seen by one or more people, but it's nothing we're acting on as long as no one reports it missing, says police spokesperson Helena Boström Thomas to TT.

It was a private individual who raised the alarm about the snake. The municipality's safety coordinator searched the area on Friday but without result. A leisure center and a preschool in the vicinity were informed about the snake, according to LT.

Carina Braun, office manager at Nykvarn Municipality, tells the newspaper that they can't be entirely sure it's really a snake.

But today (Friday) the coordinator called the person and got a very detailed description of the snake, she says to LT.

In its wanted ad, the municipality asks the owner to contact the police. But they don't rule out the possibility that it might be a wild snake.
