Nine patients have died in a hospital fire in northern Iran, state media reports.
The fire at the hospital in the city of Rasht broke out during the night local time. Six women and three men died. A short circuit in the hospital's basement is believed to have caused the fire, according to the rescue service.
Over 140 people were rescued from the smoke, both patients and hospital staff. 120 of them received hospital care after the fire.
