Several people have been arrested after a suspected dangerous object was found at Stockholm Central Station. The object was discovered during a police control of those who were later arrested.

Parts of the central station were cordoned off on Wednesday evening and the police bomb experts were called in.

"It's a bomb. Run! Everyone out of here!" a man who came from the track area screamed, according to Emilia Wernholm, who works at one of the restaurants.

The man was in civilian clothes, but shortly afterwards, uniformed police officers appeared, repeating the warning.

Then I started closing the restaurant, but then the police officers screamed. "Out of here immediately. It's your job or your life!" says Emilia Wernholm.

Lifting of cordons

The cordons were lifted at 19.15 and Emilia Wernholm and her colleague could go back to the restaurant to close it properly.

We got very scared. It felt like it was a matter of life and death for a while, but maybe one shouldn't have panicked that much, she says.

The bomb experts have taken possession of an object for further investigation. The police have also initiated a preliminary investigation into a crime against the law on flammable and explosive goods.

According to the police, there was no reason to stop the train traffic. However, some tracks were cordoned off, which led to changes in the train departures.

Was going to travel north

Gabriella from Malmö was on her way to Kvikkjokk when she and her company were forced to turn back.

When we were going down to the track, a man came running, a guard or something, and screamed: "Out! Suspected bomb, evacuate!" and tried to get us to take the stairs up, she says.

Together with other travelers heading north, they have tried to get information about how to proceed – without success.

We have no idea, no clue. We have called Vy to find out what to do, if we get compensation. But no one is answering, we haven't gotten through yet.
