Despite darkness and worse road conditions during autumn, winter, and spring, there are more fatal accidents on the roads during the summer, reports SR Traffic Editorial.

The reason is that there are significantly more unprotected road users on our roads, says Staffan Berge Holmbom, statistician at the Transport Agency to the radio.

There are more motorcycles on the major roads and more bicycles, pedestrians, and mopeds in urban environments.

Motorcyclists continue to be affected, according to Staffan Berge Holmbom.

This is a group that continues to have accidents.

According to statistics from 2003 to the present day, it is approximately 40 percent more who die in traffic during the summer compared to the rest of the year.

In 2024, nearly 70 percent more have died in traffic during the summer compared to winter and spring.
