Bolivia's former president Evo Morales claims that shots were fired at the car he was traveling in on his way to a radio interview in the city of Cochabamba on Sunday. The driver was injured, according to Morales.
The car I arrived in has 14 bullet holes, says Morales, and adds:
This was planned. The idea was to kill Evo.
Evo Morales became in 2006 the first president with roots in Bolivia's indigenous population. He was extremely popular until he tried to circumvent the constitution and get re-elected for a fourth time in 2019.
