Eternity C was on its way north towards the Suez Canal when it was shot at by people in small boats and with bomb-carrying drones, according to the EU's marine operation that combats pirates in the region. 25 crew members were on the ship, of which 4 were killed and 10 people could be rescued. The remaining 11 claim the Houthi rebels that they have in their custody.
"Eleven crew members were rescued at sea, including two injured who received medical care. One body, which was found on board the ship before it sank, was transported to the hospital's morgue", the movement writes on X.
Last week, Human Rights Watch accused the Houthis of illegally holding the crew captive. Previously, the US has also directed the same accusations against the movement.
Late on Sunday, the Iran-supported movement announced that they will attack all ships that traffic Israeli ports.
