Showbiz icon Liza Minnelli will write her memoirs for the first time. The 78-year-old Minnelli is the daughter of actress and singer Judy Garland, and both have been portrayed in a number of books, films, and miniseries before. But they have been full of lies and half-truths, according to Liza Minnelli, who will now tell her own story.
"They (the films and books) were made by people who didn't know my family or me. In the end, I got damn angry! At a dinner one evening, I decided that it's my damn story – and I'll share it with you" she writes in a strong statement that The Hollywood Reporter has taken part of.
Liza Minnelli broke through as Sally Bowles in "Cabaret" and received an Oscar for the role. She has also struggled with addiction and been married several times.
Her memoirs will be published in 2026.
