Marika Domanski Lyfors has been elected to the Swedish football Hall of Fame.
"Represents a unique life achievement in the sign of women's football. From her own playing career with five titles to long-term national team responsibility, which has yielded silver in both the World Championship and the European Championship", it states in the motivation.
64-year-old Domanski Lyfors was sick-listed from her position as national team manager earlier this year, after being diagnosed with a brain tumor. Later in the spring, it was announced that the tumor is malignant and cannot be operated on.
Björn Andersson, Hanna Marklund, and GAIS legend Albert "Abben" Olsson (who passed away in 1977) are also elected to the Hall of Fame, which now consists of a total of 90 players and leaders.
