A man in his 30s has been requested to be detained, suspected of having killed a young woman in Ystad.
He is reasonably suspected of murder, a lower degree of suspicion, writes Ystads Allehanda.
It depends on the fact that we have not yet received a statement from the forensic pathologist and therefore do not know the cause of death. I can say that we currently do not have anything that proves that violence was used against the woman, says prosecutor Love Lundin to the newspaper.
The woman, who was in her 20s, was found dead in a residence on Christmas Day.
The man has also been requested to be detained on probable grounds suspected of rape.
It is other evidence that has emerged which makes us suspect him also of rape, says Love Lundin.
The detention hearing will be held over the weekend.
