A 75-year-old man has been found dead in the water at Ekholmen outside Tösse in Åmål municipality.

It was private individuals who discovered the body and the alarm was received by SOS at 12:46 on Tuesday.

It is likely that the man was out fishing and fell into the water, says Peter Adlersson, press spokesperson at the police.

The man, who is from the area, had not been reported missing and the police believe that the accident occurred during the day or recently.

Relatives have been informed and a report has been filed on death without suspicion of crime, says Peter Adlersson.
