It is very alarming what is happening. It raises very important and very big questions about Turkey's view on the rule of law and how the judiciary is used, says Kristersson to journalists in the parliament.

These are questions that Turkey needs to answer sooner or later, he adds and notes that Turkey is a candidate country to the EU but that the negotiations have been on ice for a long time.

On the question of whether he himself, or the government or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has had contact with Turkey to express that view, the Prime Minister says that he and his European colleagues have responded to questions about the development.
