We have achieved a great deal, and thanks to President (Donald) Trump, we have come closer to our goals, said Netanyahu at a press conference on Sunday evening, after the US bombed three nuclear facilities in Iran during the night.
Netanyahu added that "when they have been achieved, the operation will be completed".
Raids on Teheran
Israeli military announced in the afternoon that about 30 fighter jets carried out raids on a large number of targets in Iran. One of them was a gathering place for Iranian long-range robots, in the province of Yazd in the central part of the country. It is the first time that the facility has been attacked, according to Israel.
Iranian media report that at least nine members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard were killed in attacks on Yazd.
Explosions were also reported from Bushehr, a coastal province where the country's only active nuclear power plant is located, according to state-controlled Iranian media.
On Sunday evening, a new Israeli wave of attacks followed against the capital Teheran and parts of western Iran. In a statement, the Israeli Air Force says that the targets are "military infrastructure".
Dawn attacks
During the early Sunday morning, air raid sirens sounded in Tel Aviv and explosions were heard in Jerusalem. At least three areas are said to have been hit when Iran fired missiles at Israel – Haifa in northern Israel, the city of Tel Aviv, and Ness Ziona south of Tel Aviv.
According to the Israeli health authority, at least 80 people were taken to hospital after the attacks during the night and morning. Most of them, over 70 people, were lightly injured.
However, the material damage was extensive.
The damage is very, very extensive, but when it comes to human life, we are okay, said Tel Aviv's mayor Ron Huldai.
Few Iranian attacks were reported against Israeli targets during Sunday evening.
